Ridley Terminals Inc. appoints Robert Booker as new Chief Executive Officer
Prince Rupert, B.C., February, 2020 — The Board of Directors of Ridley Terminals Inc. (RTI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Booker as Chief Executive Officer. The appointment follows the closing on the purchase of the terminal in December 2019. Mr. Booker will oversee and lead all aspects of the marine terminal, with specific attention to maximizing and increasing existing capacity to meet growing customer demand. He will also be responsible for future planned expansion of the terminal to increase on-terminal storage and handling capacity, in addition to a proposed second berth. With his more than 25 years of extensive operations experience, Mr. Booker brings a strong focus on terminal transformation and growth, operational efficiency and risk management. Prior to taking on RTI’s leadership role, Mr. Booker was Senior Vice President at a major Vancouver bulk terminal and was previously the Operations Manager at another marine terminal. In these roles, he led several multi-million-dollar capital projects, in addition to being accountable for customer sales and marketing, logistics, maintenance, safety and environmental performance. He has also held senior positions in the Canadian mining sector. “Rob Booker’s depth of experience in the Canadian marine terminal sector is unparalleled. As we look to continue to grow and expand our business, we’re excited to have Mr. Booker take the helm at RTI. Not only does he understand how to efficiently run a terminal, he also understands the importance of safe, responsible terminal operations,” said Bill Hunter, RTI’s board member.
